  • How I Started

    Hoyt Farm Park, Commack, Long Island, NY. I first began to learn to throw and catch during summers as a teen back in the second millennium, (see Flippy Guy Digital Twin: early years) then after many years discovered the key to the 3rd World moves I do now. I specifically recall identifying my first disc “flip” move, a simple chest roll that ended with a clean flip at the end of my catch.
    I’m not the only one nor the first to have had this experience while jamming. It’s quite rewarding and unforgettable. The roll ended just at the lip of my finger then gravity led the foil downward then with a reaching touch the foiil flipped end over end and after my get the flip became a new and innovative expressive and yes super cool move. I realized I was onto something but only if I could pull it off again and again…and again….again again again, drop, drop again drop drop… you know the drill. It was on a raining day while living in Stroudsburg, PA Circa 1990. I never looked back and have exclusively pushed my 3rd World skills since that time. My involvement in FPA previously is limited. That is changing and now extending to other platforms of my works.
    A Top 3rd World Disc Freestylist! Need Prood see Flippy Guy’s Live preformace for convincing. My moves are unique, passionately developed over time and yes some seem accidental but they are not. I competed at FPAW 1995. Demo at FPAW 2013. Today, better, wiser, more user friendly. See Flippy Guy May 2019 video at FPA Facebook. Ambidextrous skills, I have. I continue to push my body and mind to understand what this gift of God is wanting to express.
