Greetings,

I’m proud to serve the Freestyle Players Association (FPA) as Executive Director! Our non-profit organization was established in 1978 to further the growth of freestyle disc play as a lifetime recreation and a competitive sport. Today, nearly 30 years later, our mission, our love of the sport, and our passion for fun, spirited, and well-organized competition is as strong as ever. Collectively, we continue to build on the sense of community that makes our sport unique!

In the competitive realm, the FPA sanctions, sponsors and provides organizational support to event directors who produce quality freestyle events. Through education and outreach programs the FPA encourages players around the globe to Spread the Jam, and bring new athletes into the sport.

Join the FPA and share this great sport with disc enthusiasts around the world. New members receive two discs, a whiz ring, and membership in lifetime of fun in a great community of disc athletes.

Our FPA website gets an amazing amount of traffic from players and sponsors and thanks to a dedicated team of board members and volunteers, it has been substantially upgraded in the past few years. We’ve added a photo gallery, video gallery and introduced a new online forum that has been a great resource for up and coming players to communicate and share ideas, in addition to the Jammers on the Net newsgroup. Don’t miss the worldwide player profiles, which are also a popular part of the site.

The FPA has experienced unprecedented growth as the sport of disc freestyle continues to explode on the European scene. Sponsors and members joined forces to produce a commercial promoted by Nike - the Nike Freestyle Ad Campaign. Freestyle was featured in two tv commercials, and a freestyle face-off tour spanned 15 countries! Also, in 2003 and 2004 the FPA World Championships were held outside the United States for the first time. The tournament took place in Rimini, Italy, hosted by Cota & Tequila Productions. The first of its kind, this event was a huge success bringing more international players into the freestyle disc community than ever before. In 2005, the event came back to the USA, hosted by the awesome team in Seattle, Washington. In 2006, FPA Worlds moved back to Europe again, as the freestyle specialists in Berlin, Germany produced the largest World Championships to date!

It’s great to be on the top of the wave as we anticipate another outstanding season of freestyle disc events featuring the Paganello Freestyle Challenge in Rimini Italy, the NASS Extreme Sports Event in Somerset England, and the WFDF World Overall in Ithaca NY, to name just a few. This year, the FPA World Championships 2007 will be held on a popular beach near Amsterdam, Netherlands! Take a look at the Freestyle Tournament Calendar for the latest information on events and start making your travel plans.

I'm so pleased to have the opportunity to work with all of you in the community to grow our sport. It’s going to be a great year!
