Amy Bekken's Treasurer Report

January 1998

Dear FPA Members,

I am fired-up about the future for our sport! As you will see from the 1998 Plan, the FPA Board of Directors plans to do some exciting and unique things to make Freestyle more fun, rewarding, and available than ever before. As your new Treasurer, I thank you for the opportunity to make our hard earned dollars work to improve the sport we love.

I want to take this opportunity to thank my predecessor, Bethany Porter-Sanchez, who did a tremendous amount of work for you in the last six years as FPA Treasurer. Bethany was instrumental in establishing the FPA as a 501© (3) non-profit, established the FPA as a California Corporation, acted as Secretary by making meeting minutes from lengthy discussions, prepared many of the sponsorship proposals, secured trophies for most of the FPA sponsored tournaments, often acted as head judge at FPA sponsored Tournaments, balanced the books, accounted for each and every member, and managed to leave her assignment in good order with a healthy bank account balance of over $8,000. Fortunately, the current Board of Directors is doing a great job of redistributing the job responsibilities which enables each of us to volunteer our own personal strengths. Together, we plan to take Freestyle Disc into the next millennium.

We can’t do it alone. We appreciate your financial support, volunteer efforts, and encouragement.
